Description
I am a health geek: I track calories, sleep, stats about workouts, get blood work done annually, use 14 different apps to document things. It's quite the mess of data. The issue arises when I try to get all of this data to work together. Perhaps when I want to query an LLM or build an ML model inquiring about how my sleep affects my workouts or my supplements affect my blood work. In the future, as data increases in importance, having an organized place for the health data of all people will be critical. That is what I seek to build long term.
Given that description, this is an ongoing project. Currently, I am adding an integration with Whoop to allow users to see their sleep data in a more elegant way.
Phase 1: Social App
After the initial setup, the first step on the way to Mastery is making a social app that allows users to compare and compete on health with friends. I imagine three pillars to start
- Sleep (through a whoop integration)
- Nutrition (through a calorie tracking integration)
- Training (through a training app integration)
Not only will each user have a profile with all their organized sleep, nutrition, and training data, they will be able to see the profiles of their friends and favorite athletes. They can also start groups with "challenges" to compete against their friends on a given metric in a given time frame. This will hopefully push forward my second life mission: make the world a healthier place with technology.
Phase 2: Complete Health Database
On top of the social app, I want it be as easy as possible for all users to update any health related data or connect with any health related service and have it tied into their account in a visually appealing and organized way. Ideally, this data would integrate with hospitals and medicine, but also serve as a data pool for researchers (with user consent) to push our knowledge of health forward.
Phase 3: Auto Data Collection Hardware
We as humans should not be expected to have to collect this data ourselves. I imagine a system where all of the health data you can imagine is automatically collected by hardware. Whether it is glasses that automatically analyze the calories on your plate or a continuous lactate monitor that tracks your lactate during workouts, you should not have to log anything. Ideally, the health data of users would be auto collected and stored for them privately. That way, they can focus on what's important: being human.
Phase 4: Pioneer Human Health
Eventually, as the technology advances, so will the data. With BCIs and other bio electronic implants, I imagine ways in which you're able to track how the relative cytokine levels in your blood corresponds with the food you eat or how your glucose fluctuates based on what neurons in your brain are firing. The future here is incredible.
My goal with Mastery is to help design and pave the way to this full stack future of health.
